Age Line is dedicated to serving seniors
and those with disabilities on the west side of Cleveland.
Whether you are seeking the freedom associated
with maintaining your independent living arrangement or are
searching for a way to avoid the financial burden of a permanenct
care facility, Age Line is here to help. Our clientele consists
largely of seniors and those with disabilities--such as Alzheimers,
Multiple Sclerosis, and Muscular
Dystrophy.
At Age Line, it has long been our mission to help our clients
cope with the impediments of old age and disability, with
an emphasis on dignity, courtesy, and an abiding understanding
of both the uniqueness of individual personalities, and the
unifying thread of our common humanity. We recognize that
each of our clients demands a different level of care. Some
are visually impaired, and can no longer operate vehicles
due to cataracts, glaucoma, or other degenerative eye diseases.
Hesitant to trust the patience or honesty of random cab drivers,
they call on Age Line's escorted transportation service to
get them to and from the grocery store, beauty salon, or Age
Line's Adult Activity Center.
Some of our clients face very serious challenges such as Alzheimers
Disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), or Muscular Dystrophy (MD).
They require intensive care, and our dedicated staff is highly
trained to provide that care.
Others have been house-bound for years and merely wish to
engage again socially with others. After all, one of the best
ways to prevent the atrophy of the mind is to remain mentally
active, and nothing keeps the mind active like community involvement.
In fact, studies have proven beyond question that social engagement
has the power to extend life, given its power to both stimulate
mind and body. This also fosters in the individual a sense
of self-worth and purpose. Since brain activity and social
activity are--at least in a limited respect--functions of
each other, professional caregivers must consider more than
just food, shelter, and medication when tending to their clients.
They must also consider their clients' hopes and dreams, and
their need for meaningful human contact. At Age Line, we do
just that.
A NOTE TO CAREGIVERS
If you are a caregiver searching for
resources to help ease the stress of caregiving, we will be
happy to help you care for your relative, whether that relative
just needs escorted transportation services, or more dedicated
medical care. We understand that in this day and age, children
of the elderly and disabled often lead hectic lives just trying
to make ends meet. It is an anomoly, rather than the norm,
to have a spouse who isn't working, and there is limited time
in the day to care for both your own children and an elderly
or disabled relative. This is nothing to be ashamed of. It
is merely a fact of life, and we would be happy to help you
cope with it. If you find that your own health and finances
are suffering as a result of the time you are currently dedicating
to caregiving, please call us today. Finding competant help
with caregiving will not only extend the length of time that
you can afford to give care, the reduced anxiety you feel
will fundamentally improve the quality of care that you do
provide. You want to be happy; your loved ones want you to
be happy; and we want you to be happy. So don't be too proud
to admit that you need a helping hand, because that's just
what we're offering, and we look forward to hearing from you.
